Lawyers Gone Funny

For most students, law school is a chance to begin a successful career as a public advocate, judge, or business person.

But for some, it's merely a detour on the way to comedic stardom.

Lawyers Gone Funny is a first-rate comedy show featuring professional comedians -- all of whom just happen to have gone to law school, passed a Bar, or practiced law.  Then they got funny.

"Other highlights during the two nonbillable hours of entertainment included lawyer-turned-comic Jeff Kreisler..." - The New York Times

Perfect for law schools, undergrad pre-law programs, summer associate events, retreats, seminars, or outings after successful projects, these brilliant and original comics will provide a refreshing, laugh-filled break for everyone pursuing the noble and demanding practice of law.

"Professional, highly entertaining, engaging, informative, and extremely funny... There was hardly a moment when the audience was not laughing... helped put into perspective the dramatic events of the day." - Executive Director, World Affairs Council of Northern California

    Betsy Wise
Every Jewish mother dreams that her daughter will graduate magna cum laude from law school, land a job at a prestigious local firm, and join the faculty of her law school her first year out. When that daughter ditches it all to hit the road as a comic, mom wakes up screaming. Betsy is her mother's living nightmare.
Born in Miami, Florida, she studied acting in New York City at Circle in the Square and studied improvisation at Ensemble Studio Theater. After taking first place in the Stanislavski Open, New York's tri-state improvisation competition, she returned to Miami to join Mental Floss, Miami's premiere improvisational comedy troupe.
Betsy took a short break from her performing arts career to earn a law degree at The University of Miami School of Law and joined the faculty of the law school while practicing commercial litigation with the law firm of Fowler, White, Burnett, Hurley, Banick & Strickroot.
Realizing that she'd rather not die an attorney, Betsy abandoned the practice and teaching of law to return to comedy full time. She has appeared at the Montreal, Boston, New Orleans and Calgary Comedy Festivals. One of the fastest rising female comics in Country, Betsy is one of the rare female comedians who constantly tours clubs throughout the United States. BetsyWise.com

... is a stand-up comic, actor and native New Yorker who performs regularly at comedy clubs, colleges and other venues throughout New York City and the country. He has opened for the late Ray Charles. Recent acting appearances include Edward Albee's "Everything in the Garden" at the John Houseman Theater in which he played the cuckolded husband Richard, the male lead. He has appeared in many independent films which have been featured at festivals around the country including the Sundance and New York Independent Film Festivals. He is also a familiar face in national and international print and television ad campaigns having been featured in spots for Post Cereal, Time Warner Cable, FIAT, and British Airways. A former corporate attorney, he began his career slogging through the hallways of one of New York's venerable Wall Street firms where at least one senior partner advised him to start taking life more seriously. Heeding that sage counsel he hit the New York comedy scene with a vengeance. Countless performances later he's still got his eyes on the prize. EricDeskin.com
