re: Comic
Rhythm/Comic Fusion
To Whom It May
Concern:
I, Ron Kirkpatrick,
am owner and manager of Tongue & Groove, an
establishment located in San Francisco. I am writing
to recommend Comic Rhythm and Confusion Laughter
Peace Productions to potential sponsors, partners,
clients, or any other party.
Comic Rhythm
first appeared at Tongue & Groove in September,
2001 as Comic Fusion, co-produced by Jeff Kreisler
and Confusion Laughter Peace (with Jeremy Beth
Michaels). Comic Rhythm is a showcase of local
comedians and musicians. Between 100 and 150 customers
have attended the shows, primarily held on Tuesday
evenings from 8:30-11:00. The room has been packed,
standing room only, with people pressed against
each other from the stage to the bar in the back.
This was a substantial increase from our regular
Tuesday business. Comic Rhythm attracted a
great deal of new business and exposure
for Tongue & Groove, which was felt both on
evenings of the show and on unrelated dates.
Jeff Kreisler
made special arrangements for Tongue & Groove
to host two evenings of the prestigious San
Francisco Comedy Competition in September
2001. This arrangement provided Tongue & Groove
with free advertising on television (UPN
44) and the internet, exposure to a large
community of San Francisco consumers, as well
as a fee from the Competition for use of
the club. In addition, Mr. Kreisler arranged for
the Competition to be held between 7pm and 9pm
on Saturdays, so that Tongue & Groove could
arrange a regular evening of entertainment. Mr.
Kreislers efforts provided us with substantial
income and exposure without detracting from our
regular business.
Comic Rhythm
shows are very professional. In addition
to booking a diverse group of national and local
comedians and musicians, the producers effectively
promoted the show, supplied necessary equipment,
created a "green room" for performers, assured
customer comfort and enjoyment, cleaned up after
the performance, offered to provide additional
staffing, were prompt and efficient, and put on
a great show which the audience truly enjoyed.
Most importantly, the producers made every
effort to keep in contact with myself and my staff
to assure that our needs and concerns were always
addressed.
I
recommend Comic Rhythm and Confusion Laughter
Peace to potential partners as a way to increase
exposure, expand marketing, support the arts,
get a good laugh, and be an important part of
the revitalization of comedy in San Francisco
and beyond. As the producers say, "Laughter Feels
Good."
Please feel
free to contact me with any questions you may
have.
Sincerely,
Ron Kirkpatrick
